In Honor of Elder Perry

I was sad to learn of Elder L. Tom Perry passing on Saturday. He was a man of great love and great enthusiasm. A few years ago, he attended our stake conference. I will always remember his powerful presence! He had a passion for the gospel, especially the importance of families and missionary work. He was such a wonderful example of optimism, reminding us how great life is and what a wonderful time we live in.

This most recent general conference, Elder Perry exuded that same optimism and enthusiasm as he encouraged us to make our voices heard in defense of marriage and family. (Here is the link to the entire talk.) He said:

"We want our voice to be heard against all of the counterfeit and alternative lifestyles that try to replace the family organization that God Himself established. We also want our voice to be heard in sustaining the joy and fulfillment that traditional families bring. We must continue to project that voice throughout the world in declaring why marriage and family are so important, why marriage and family really do matter, and why they always will."

In honor of Elder Perry, let us continue to project our voices as he has always done!
